About frequencies: Many Caribbean stations use several FM relay frequencies to cover mountainous islands or separate islands within one country. Where a station operates a network, the table shows either the main frequency or the known frequency range. Online listening is usually the easiest option for visitors outside the broadcast area.
What you will hear across the Caribbean
Caribbean radio is unusually diverse for a relatively small region. English-language islands mix local news and talk with soca, calypso, reggae, dancehall, gospel and international pop. Jamaica has a particularly strong reggae and dancehall radio culture. Puerto Rico is dominated by Spanish-language talk, salsa and Latin music. Aruba and Curaçao add Papiamento and Dutch to the mix, while Saint Lucia and Dominica also feature Kwéyòl programming. Local radio remains especially useful for weather information, hurricane updates, community events, politics, sport and festival coverage.
Listening tips
Most stations now stream through their own websites, while some use external audio platforms. Streams may be unavailable during maintenance, sports-rights restrictions or severe weather. On mobile devices, a station may open its player in a new browser tab. If you are travelling in the Caribbean, keep the FM frequency as well: local radio often continues to provide important information when mobile data is congested.
