The old CaribSurf accommodation page tried to list almost every hotel and guesthouse with telephone and fax numbers. That approach worked in the early web, but it ages badly. Properties close, change names, move websites and alter prices. This version therefore concentrates on where to stay and why, while linking to the official tourism directory for current booking details.
Where to stay by location
Port of Spain
Best for Carnival, business, restaurants, Queen's Park Savannah, museums and nightlife. Current well-known properties include Hyatt Regency Trinidad, Hilton Trinidad & Conference Centre, The BRIX Autograph Collection, Kapok Hotel, Hotel Normandie and Forty Winks Inn.
Piarco & Trincity
Useful for late arrivals, early departures and short business stays near Piarco International Airport. Holiday Inn Express Trincity is among the established options in the area.
Northern Range & Nature
For birdwatching and rainforest rather than city life, look at nature-oriented stays around the Northern Range. Asa Wright Nature Centre and Hacienda Jacana are current examples aimed strongly at nature travellers.
North & East Coast
Smaller guesthouses and locally run properties are the better fit for travellers focused on beaches, turtle watching or village life around Blanchisseuse, Toco, Grande Riviere, Sans Souci, Manzanilla and Mayaro.
South Trinidad
San Fernando, Point Lisas and Point Fortin are more useful for business, industry and visiting family than conventional resort tourism. Accommodation is more dispersed than in Port of Spain.
Carnival
Book far earlier than for an ordinary trip. Carnival demand can fill the strongest Port of Spain locations months ahead, and rates rise sharply around the main weekend.

How to choose
If the trip is mainly about Carnival, culture or business, Port of Spain is normally the most practical base. For wildlife, consider splitting the stay and spending time closer to the Northern Range or east coast. Travellers who want a classic beach-resort holiday should also compare Tobago, because Trinidad's strongest attractions are culture, nature, food and local life rather than a dense concentration of beachfront resorts.
Booking checks
Before paying, confirm the property's current website, cancellation terms, taxes and service charges, exact location and airport-transfer arrangements. During Carnival and major events, verify whether minimum-stay requirements apply. For small guesthouses, confirm that the accommodation is still operating and that the person requesting payment genuinely represents it.
